Abstract

To evaluate the parasite infection rate of experimental mire and the effect of the parasite infection, the authors have investigated the conventional mice in S Laboratory Animal Center. It was revealed that many mice were infected With parasites. The infection rate was from 41.7% to 100%, the mean value was 75%. The mice treated with dexamethasone showed 100% and control mice showed 50%. The parasites recovered from this examination were pinworms (Aspiculuris tetraptera, Syphacia muris and S obvelata) and coccidium.
To investigate the effect of pinworms-infection to SPF mice, the authors made SPF mice lire with the infected mice and evaluate the body weights gain. The body weights gain of SPF mice living with the infected mice were Significantly lower than that of control SPF mice during all the experimental period. Therefore, in order to supply much better experimental mice, more attention should be paid to the environment and parasites including pinworms.
